A lot has been going on.

  • I am, right now, listening to King Tubby.  My pressing of …Meets Uptown Rockers has a charming skip so I have to whack the record player half way through side A.  Irie mon.
  • I am, right now, installing ubuntu on Annabelle’s netbook.  So easy!  And 50 times faster than the Vista it came with.
  • I am, right now, fixin’ to launch a new stevedunstan.com. Fully King Tubbified with extra dope jQuery goodness functions.
  • Finally, Brown just dropped off a package from Adafruit. I got a continuous rotation servo and a few LCDs to try on my Arduino-powered Internet Gumball Machine project.  This thing is going to be both ridiculous and awesome.

My New Year’s Resolution was to only buy music published in 2009.  I (mostly) did it.  I bought MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular (2007).  Sue me.

The rest was true.  I also cheated by buying gifts and stuff from lala.  I also bought stuff I assumed was from 2009 but was, in fact, from 2008 (sorry).

Mostly, though, I did not cheat on my resolution.  I discovered a whole bunch of new stuff.  Here is my favorite: Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson’s Summer of Fear.  I will not critique or try to explain MBAR because I love it.

    The first is a little, tiny budgeting application.  I think it will be really useful.  I would like to release it for free/ad supported.  I also have an idea to sell the source code to a bank. Hey, I work for a bank (just not a retail one.) Maybe I will get lucky here.

    The second is part of a dream that I have had for a few years now. It is a football pool site + iPhone app. I am really going to try to get this one done by pre-season.

I decided to only use phrases that began with SD.  I woke up the kids for school by yelling “Stop Dreaming”. During the morning news, I commented, “Supreme Dictator” when the president came on.  You get the idea.

    When I came into work, I greeted everyone with “Super Day”. It caught on and now everybody wants to have their initial day.  Wednesday was AP day.  At the pub we begged, “Another, Please.” My boss got sick of us playing the game and said we are “All Phired.”  By Thursday, JR day, it had gone viral.  Everyone was Joining the Revelry.

    Today is Most Definately MD day.  Got any good ones?
